Mrs. Sumathi Courtenay is a leading architect in Belize and Principal of Vividarch Company Ltd., an architectural design firm. Mrs. Courtenay and YEC have teamed up on several landmark projects in Belize, including the Fort Point Pedestrian Walk Project and the Grand Heritage Villas at Coco Beach. Mrs. Courtenay holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of the West Indies.
Lucien Chung, P. Eng Civil Engineer – Hydraulics
Mr. Lucien Chung is a civil engineer specializing in water, wastewater, drainage and environmental engineering. Mr. Chung holds a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the University of the West Indies and a Master degree in Hydrology for Environmental Management from the University of London-Imperial College. He has extensive experience in the water and environmental fields in both Jamaica and Belize.
Hector Paiz, Ing. Civ.Geotechnical & Highway Engineering.
Hector Paiz provides geotechnical engineering expertise to YEC, including field testing & sampling, laboratory testing, and design of pavements & foundations in complex subsurface conditions. Mr. Paiz has some 30 years of experience to go with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of San Carlos in Guatemala, and a master’s degree specializing in Soil Mechanics, Bridges & Highways from the University of Kumamoto in Japan. Mr. Paiz is fluent in Spanish and conversational in English.
