YEC has designed and supervised the construction of reinforced concrete water storage towers in many parts of Belize, notably in the northern villages of San Felipe and Douglas, and at Sunday Wood in southern Belize. After southern Belize was shaken by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake in 2009, at the request of the Caribbean Development Bank and the Belize Social Investment Fund, YEC pioneered the use of reinforced concrete X – bracing for enhanced lateral load resistance.
